God Showed Up
What a day...
I don't blog on here much but it seems like this week I have wanted to share what was going on in my life.
To be truly transparent, I didn't want to go on this mission trip. I mean... I don't do hot weather (I sweat terribly), my back isn't as strong as it used to be, and I could go on and on for the reasons I thought were legit to keep me from going. I tried to get out of it but finally realized I couldn't let the spot go unused and no replacement could be found at such a late date. So...hesitantly I climbed in the van early last Wednesday morning.
And wow...Did God ever show up in my life!
I learned so many valuable lessons on this trip. We worked with two other churches and we were split into 3 groups. The group I worked with were amazing. Their love for the Lord was catching and their laughter and joking with each other reminded me of my own church people. Isn't it amazing where God puts you to grow?
I learned that...
- Don't take life too seriously.
- Be thankful for everything (I mean everything) that God has given you.
- When I think back to what I've gone through growing up, I realize I didn't combat anything compared to some of the testimonies my new friends shared, and I'm grateful.
- If one person received any kind of blessing from me sharing it was worth it and it was all God.
- It never hurts to eat breakfast twice (we were treated to doughnuts each morning after we arrived at our work site... and of course after we had already eat breakfast. 😜)
- Don't judge others before getting to know them.
- Why are we not telling others more and more about Jesus?
- Heaven or hell?
- William has L and R socks to signify which foot goes with which sock 😂
- I'll need to add more as they come to mind later 😉
I really felt God tugging at me to share tonight, so when I shared about not wanting to be in Ohio, I'll just say I was a little embarrassed. I sure hope somehow that was God's plan! From that to what is really near and dear to my heart, "My God Time," I really hope it was something someone needed to hear.
I try my best to listen to God when he tugs at my heart.
On the flip side, I was incredibly blessed by the others that shared their testimony tonight. There was so much out of each testimony/story I needed to hear and I'm so thankful for each and everyone who shared.
God showed up tonight in a big way. He's always right on time.
I must say I'm going to be sort of sad going home now (yes, even though I did look up flights to fly home the first day😳). But God changed my heart, and I'm so grateful. ❤️
Thank you my friends and All For One Ministries! My first mission trip has been an experience I will never forget!
