Does the devil bother you too?

Do you ever feel that the devil is working hard to make you feel less than... to make you feel like you’re not good enough to _______ (fill in the blank, e.g., lead a Bible Study, share what God has shown you through studies, interact with people because you’re overweight or too tall, make you feel like you’re not good enough in general and many many other things)? 

Sometimes I think that the devil thinks he will win because he tries so hard to get us down on ourselves about something...anything. He wants us to think we don’t have a good heart when we really do. 

The devil is a liar and he comes only to steal kill and destroy. If we give into what he wants and believe the lies he tells there’s going to be someone missing out on what they need to hear from us. 

John 10:10 (ESV) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 

Don’t fall into his trap...ever. Hold tight onto God’s Word and stay in His Word everyday. He will lead you through all of that.

Making New Friends

We are on day 3 of working in the churches, doing construction work and helping with a soccer camp for Ukrainian children. It's not been easy, but it's been fun making new friends from Dekalb Baptist Church out of South Carolina.  Today is our last day here and tomorrow we head to Kentucky to see the Ark Encounter.  This first mission trip has been challenging to say the least, but it's also been rewarding and made me realize how much I take for granted.

The Need to be Right?

Do you have a need to always be right in what you do? ...daily living, work, discussion with co workers, family, friends, neighbors, significant other?... Sometimes I do - not necessarily all the time - but a lot of the time.  Why do we feel that way? More importantly, why do we feel the need to vocalize our right we are?  Maybe you don't...I have been guilty before.  I have also realized that there is a time and place for everything and maybe I don't always need to vocalize things like that. I have watched my uncle over the past couple of years being close to him in a working environment and he is a very quiet man.  He will not speak out a lot.  But when he does, I find his words ones you want to hold onto.

Get it Together!

Unbelievable to me... Have you ever let yourself go? I did...and it's so embarrassing!  But...it is what it is and I'm working to change it.  I have tried all kinds of diets - everything you can imagine - anything that suggested I could lose weight fast and easy.  Obviously - nothing allows me to do that without changing my eating habits. So, for the 1,332,437,385 time (not really, but you get the point), I started Weight Watchers - now known as WW. Since the beginning of December until last Thursday, 2/21, I have shed 40 pounds (40.8 to be exact, but who's counting).  I don't know that I have EVER lost that much and stayed with it - I have lost and gained and lost and gained soooo many times.  I have a long way to go - but instead of an 3XL dress with lots of stretch...I am wearing an XL dress with no stretch :) That.  Is.  A.  Great.  Feeling! xoxo
